It may change the way you look at starting a food business.
My name is Nwokocha Friday Isaac Chidi (you can check me on Facebook).
And before I tell you about this class, I want to tell you my story. Because everything I am about to teach you is connected to what I have personally experienced.
Around 2021, I had the idea of starting a restaurant business. I was excited about it.
I started thinking about what I would need. The shop. Equipment. Furniture. Staff. Kitchen setup. Rent. Everything.
Then I calculated how much it would cost. And honestly… I just swept the whole idea under the table. The money was too much.
“This restaurant thing is not possible for me right now.”
The idea came back. But this time, I asked myself a different question. Instead of asking: “How do I get enough money to open a restaurant?”
I already had most of the things I needed. So I didn’t wait for millions. I registered the business, got a few things I needed, set up what I already had and decided to start selling cooked food from home.
At the beginning, I had just ONE MEAL on the menu. Jollof rice.

That was it. No big restaurant. No beautiful storefront. No large team. Just food, my home and the determination to make it work.
On our first day of launch, we sold over 30 plates. And within less than two weeks… WE HAD SOLD OVER 200 PLATES.
People we knew started buying. Then people we didn’t know started reaching out.

All while we were still operating from home with a load of beautiful reviews.

And I kept thinking: What if I had waited until I had a restaurant before I started?
I would have missed all of this.

BUT THAT WASN’T EVEN THE BIGGEST PART.
While we were still selling from home, we started getting bigger opportunities.
One of the first major contracts we got was with the National Communications Commission (NCC).

We were contracted to provide breakfast and lunch for an average of about 50 people for four days. (Day 3 and 4 had over 70 people)

And guess where we prepared everything?
FROM HOME.
We executed the contract.
We delivered.
And the profit was amazing.
Then came other orders.
20 plates.
30 plates.
40 plates.
50 plates.
Mostly meetings, birthdays and other occasions.
And we kept executing them from home.

Again, I asked myself:
“What if I had waited?”
THEN CAME ANOTHER BIG ONE.
While still operating from home, we got a wedding catering contract.
350 GUESTS.
Yes.
Three hundred and fifty people.

And we executed it…
FROM HOME.
THEN IT WAS TIME TO MOVE.
Not because I had waited until everything was perfect.
But because the business had grown enough to make the next step possible.
On 15th March 2026, I opened the doors to my first physical restaurant — Express Chidi’s Kitchen in Makurdi.
And we have continued to grow and make sales since then.
From a home kitchen…
To 30 plates on launch day…
To over 200 plates in less than two weeks…
To offices, schools, banks and CBN…
To major contracts…
To a 350-person wedding…
To a physical restaurant.
ALL BECAUSE I STARTED.
I created this class for people who want to start selling food but don’t know where to begin.
And for people who have already started but are struggling to get customers, make profit and grow.
I want to show you what I have learnt from actually building my own food business.

How to choose your meals and start with a simple, manageable menu.
Practical ways to get your first customers and turn them into repeat customers.
How to understand your food cost, overhead and selling price so you know whether you are actually making profit.
How to use Facebook, WhatsApp, content, offers and other practical marketing strategies to get your food in front of potential customers.
How to create and run FREE adverts on Facebook Marketplace, target people around your location and drive interested people to your ordering channel. The goal is to get ORDERS.
How to create attractive offers without destroying your profit.
How to position your food for meetings, birthdays, offices, events and other bulk opportunities.
How to structure delivery and give customers a good experience.
How to give people reasons to come back instead of constantly looking for new customers.
How to know when it is time to employ people and start moving from doing everything yourself.
How to know when you are ready for the next stage and what to consider before moving into a physical location.
There will be frequent update to the course if need be.
